I WAS Young …
NOW I’M
Wonderful!
By Joy Reilly, Bill & Sue Benton, & Gerald Harvey

SRO’s two-time Emmy-award winning musical about the many transitions, which can be experienced in any one-hundred-year life span, presented from the insightful perspective of 12 talented mature actors.  SRO’s signature musical comedy, which drew sell-out crowds at the World Senior Theatre Festival in Cologne, Germany, has been featured on ABC-TV, the BBC and the National Convention on Aging in Washington, D.C.  It “brims with several lifetime’s worth of wit and wisdom.” – Michael Grossberg, The Columbus Dispatch.

A Picket Fence, Two Kids and a Dog Named Spot?
By Joy Reilly, Jill Brehm-Enders and Gary Grundei

For many years, children learned to read with the Dick and Jane Readers.  This original jazz musical comedy borrows those characters to look at the changing American family.  When Spot, the disgruntled adolescent family pet, demands more spots from his Fairy Dogmother, she tells him to earn them.  Impatiently he rejects his storybook family and goes in search of a better one.  Spot explores a variety of options including families on a farm, in a wealthy suburb, a homeless woman, a single parent home and a nursing home.  Laced with a good deal of nostalgia, this musical is popular with audiences of all ages for its tongue-in-cheek humor and jazzy score.

The  Story of the
Underground Railroad

Arranged by Joy Reilly

Oral histories of fugitive slaves from the Underground Railroad retold in verse and song.  The story of the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD is one of America’s great legends, a mixture of historical facts and myths.  Few documents concerning the railroad have survived.  Most sources are personal accounts written after they occurred.
