The play tells the real-life story of Morrie Schwartz, a former college professor, and his former student Mitch Albom, now an accomplished journalist who is driven solely by his career. When Mitch learns his old college professor, Morrie, is battling Lou Gehrig’s disease, he decides to visit him. What begins as a single Tuesday visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a final course on the meaning of life. It is a “touching, life-affirming, deeply emotional drama with a generous dose of humor” (NY Daily News).
